Morgan Memorial Goodwill Industries
Boston Marathon Team

Each year, runners on Goodwill’s Boston Marathon Team go the distance not just for the race—but for the future of Boston’s youth. Team members raise funds for the Peter Morrissey Youth Fund, which supports Goodwill’s employment programs for young people facing barriers to entering the workforce.

The fund honors the legacy of Peter Morrissey, a dedicated Goodwill Board member and lifelong advocate for Goodwill, whose vision helped launch both these vital youth programs and Goodwill’s official marathon team.

Goodwill’s youth services are designed to help high school students with special needs, those who have dropped out, recent graduates without a plan, and young adults with developmental disabilities. Through a combination of work readiness training, paid job experience, and personalized support, these programs help young people build confidence, set goals, and prepare for long-term success in the workplace and beyond.

When you run with Goodwill, you’re not just training for a marathon—you’re helping young people take meaningful steps toward independence, purpose, and a brighter future.
